About the Center

Our Mission

The overall focus of the center is on mental health and the specific challenges faced by expats and individuals with a migration background.

The center focuses on two main areas: psychotherapy and coaching. In psychotherapy, we support individuals experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, or stress related to life transitions and migration. In coaching, the focus is on career development, adapting to the labor market in a new country, and gaining personal and professional clarity.

Our mission is to create an integrative therapeutic space where different psychotherapeutic approaches and cultural backgrounds are brought together in a constructive way. We are particularly committed to offering individuals with a migration background a safe and respectful environment that takes into account integration-related stress, language barriers, and cultural tensions – without pathologizing these experiences.

Our goal is to create a center where diversity is not only accepted but actively integrated as a valuable resource in therapeutic and developmental work.

Ida Hansen, PhD

Medical Doctor & Psychotherapist
Head of the Center

I was born in Austria and, due to my father’s career as a diplomat, spent parts of my childhood and adolescence living in different countries. I now live permanently in Denmark.

With extensive life experience, I understand the challenges of being new in a country – learning a new language and culture, and finding one’s place in society. I am also aware of the emotional strain this can involve. In addition, there are often professional challenges, such as navigating a new labor market and finding a new career path.

My broad expertise is built on many years of education and continuous professional development.

As a physician licensed in Denmark with more than 18 years of experience, I have a strong focus on psychotherapeutic treatment. My extensive clinical background spans both psychotherapy and multiple medical specialties, including:
– Psychotherapy (cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, trauma therapy, as well as creative and experiential approaches), psychosomatic medicine, and psychiatry
– General practice, emergency medicine, rehabilitation and preventive medicine, occupational medicine, internal medicine, and clinical oncology

As a coach, I have a solid professional foundation with several advanced trainings in Denmark in areas such as:
– Career coaching
– Communication
– Personal development

I continuously update my professional knowledge and regularly engage in supervision with qualified supervisors.
